Fred the Gnome wandered into my imagination a few weeks ago. This wise old gnome is just fantastic! I am really pleased with how he turned out and what started out as an idea to just make a simple gnome evolved into this gorgeous stash box.
Fred is felted of merino fast felting batts from Living Felt in black, hemlock, midnight and garnet. His beard is Tibetan lambswool.
The base is a paper mache box with a little drawer. I've covered it in faux moss in several shades of green.
I've lined the box with purple felt and the underside of the box is covered in the same felt. It has been painted in brown acrylic.
Fred has lifelike green glass eyes that really give him depth and life.

This is one of the most incredible things I have ever seen felted! The box is such a good idea! The eyes look real!
